Gordon Brown Supports England In The World Cup
But Helps Put Scottish Football Out Of Business

Despite being Scottish, Gordon Brown came out recently in to proclaim his support for England in the World Cup. However, he doesn't seem to want to help Scottish football! It's been reported that Semi-professional and junior league football clubs in Scotland are being attacked by HMRC for backdated payments of PAYE and National Insurance contributions to 2003.

This follows a decision to deduct income tax from payments to part-time players and not let the players, some of whom take home just £10-a-week, work out their own taxes as self-employed workers. It's thought this could put some of the clubs out of business.
