Don't forget the deadlines coming up for filing of end of year PAYE Returns:
May 19th: Deadline for Employers' end of year PAYE Returns (P35, P14, P38 & P38A). Also last date for filing contractors return online. Penalty of at least £100 for every month past the due date.
May 30th: Deadline for copies of P60 to be issued to employees.
July 6th: Deadline for forms P11D, P11Db and P9D to be submitted and copies of P11D AND P9D to be issued to employees concerned. Penalty of £300 for being late with a possible additional daily penalty of £60. Also the deadline for employers to report share incentives on form 42.
Even directors who take a salary at the level between the lower earnings limit and the earnings threshold such that no tax or national insurance is due should still file their end of year returns. This will help ensure they still get credit for national insurance contributions even though none were paid. And if done online, a £250 incentive refund on top as well. Who says you can't get something for nothing!
